"Little Asean:
Preparing Kindergarteners for
the Asean Community"
2-5 August 2012

Rationale
With the formulation of the Asean Community in 2014, it is imperative that Thais are aware of our neighbors' history, economy, culture, and social makeup. The Thai education system must be upgraded to prepare the new generation for the upcoming changes in accordance with the national curriculum on Asean education. The Early Year curriculum, in particular, should be modified to emphasize technology, language (English), the other skills necessary for the student to thrive in a multi-cultural society, while at the same time preserve and promote Thai culture and tradition.

To this end, the "Little Asean: Preparing Kindergarteners for Asean" seminar is held as a first step to building awareness among university students and the general public on the importance of such preparation.
